Renewable Energy Renewable Energy Sources at Our University

Bartın University continues to integrate renewable energy technologies into its campus by taking significant steps toward sustainable energy solutions. In this context, a 5.5 kW solar-powered electricity generation system installed on the roof of the LAB building contributes to the university's energy needs. Furthermore, a solar-powered mobile phone charging station is available on campus for use by students and staff, which encourages environmentally friendly practices in daily campus life.

The University also places great importance on research and experimental studies concerning solar energy systems. For example, the project titled "Internet of Things Based Flood Early Warning System for Smart and Sustainable Urbanization in Bartın Basin" utilizes solar energy in its operations. This is an innovative project that aims to increase sustainability and safety in the region by combining the use of renewable energy with modern technological solutions.

Bartın University also supports clean transportation solutions. There are four electric vehicles at the university designed and manufactured by students and academic staff. This achievement not only showcases the technical skills of the university community but also demonstrates its commitment to developing energy-efficient and sustainable transportation systems.

In addition, the "Smart Energy Laboratory" established at the university offers a valuable area for both academic staff and students to conduct research in the field of energy. With studies particularly focused on renewable energy, prospective engineers will have the opportunity to receive hands-on training on energy systems, preparing them for future challenges.

Moreover, solar panels have been placed on the roof of the university's accessible living area, ensuring the use of renewable energy in inclusive spaces on campus. Through these initiatives, Bartın University continues to set an example by promoting a culture of sustainability and energy efficiency across the campus.
