Campus Flora

Bartın University conducts a comprehensive conservation program for plant genetic resources in its Ağdacı and Kutlubey campuses, which are located in a region known for its high biodiversity. Central to this effort is the BOFZK Herbarium, which hosts over 1,000 plant specimens representing the region's flora. Our conservation strategy also includes the protection of endemic species such as 'Paflagonya Belumotu' (Cynanchica paphlagonica), which was introduced to the scientific world by our university's researchers. The preservation of our flora is ensured through sustainable landscape practices and the conservation of the pond, green areas, and natural forests within the campus boundaries.
