Energy Saving
Use of Energy-Efficient Devices
Bartın University has demonstrated its significant achievements in this area by winning the third-place award in the Inter-University Energy Efficiency (ÜNVER-1) Competition, thanks to its efforts to increase energy efficiency in campus areas. This achievement is the result of the university's comprehensive efforts to improve energy usage.
Furthermore, Bartın University (BARÜ) received a "Superior Achievement Certificate" from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources as a result of the energy efficiency achieved through the policies it implemented between 2019 and 2023.
Energy-efficient devices are widely used in buildings, and significant steps are being taken to reduce energy consumption. For example, old lamps have been gradually replaced with more efficient and long-lasting LED lamps. Newly constructed buildings exclusively use LED lighting, integrating energy saving from the start. Furthermore, sensor-controlled lighting systems that activate only when needed have been installed in many areas.
Improvements have also been made to heating systems, with thermostatic valves being used on radiators to allow for more precise temperature control and minimize unnecessary energy use. In addition, the university prefers high energy-efficiency products for newly purchased electrical devices, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable practices in every field.
These initiatives emphasize Bartın University's dedication to creating a more sustainable environment and show that it is leading the way in energy efficiency in higher education.
