The electric car named "Simurg", prepared by the students of the Science and Technology Club of our university, returned with an award from the 16th TÜBİTAK Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races in TEKNOFEST.

The special stage of the 16th TÜBİTAK Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST was held in Istanbul Park.  'Simurg', the third car produced 100 percent locally by our university students, was the second-fastest car in the races and ranked 7th in efficiency. In 2018, the students ranked 22nd in the field of efficiency with an electric car named "Çeşm-i Cihan" and ranked 10th in 2019 with the car "Gökbörü".

Stating that they are improving themselves day by day, Science and Technology Club President Yasin Adıgüzel said, “As Bartın University students, we participated in the races held by TÜBİTAK for the first time in 2018 with our vehicle named Çeşm-i Cihan. With our electric vehicle produced this year, we ranked 22nd in the efficiency field and 6th in the speed tests. In 2019, we managed to rank in the top 10 with our electric vehicle named 'Gökbörü'. We have carried out a month-long study in order to make the most progress with the least consumption by adding new experiences to our experiences. We produced all parts of the vehicle including the engine, battery management system, and mechanical parts together with our teammates. As a result, while our vehicle was the second-fastest car in the races held on the F1 track this year, it was 7th in efficiency. We were also entitled to the "Promotion Dissemination Incentive" award. “ We will carry these experiences further.
